If you’re looking to try a new hobby by yourself or with a partner try Ballroom, Latin, or Swing dance classes! Our BYOB private and group classes offer something interesting for single or coupled dancers of any level.
Most people come to us as beginners and finish each lesson feeling a bit more capable and confident on the dance floor. Our instructors will sit with you for a bit to hear more about your goals and then get you up and dancing. All lessons, whether group or private lessons are tailored to your specific interests, goals and pace of learning.

Private Dance Lessons
Private lessons, for 1-2 people, give you one-on-one attention from your instructor. They can also be a bit easier to schedule as you aren’t limited to the group class schedule. Lessons take place at our Lakeview and West Loop studios Monday through Friday evenings and Saturday’s until 4pm. Private lessons allow you to focus on the style of dances that interest you like Bachata, Country Two-Step, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Rumba, Salsa, Tango, Waltz, West Coat Swing and more!
Prices range from $135-$180 depending how many you purchase at a time. We always recommend you start with one to see what you think. We’ll let you add it into a package later if you decide you want to continue!
Studio members receive 25% off private lessons, 35% off group classes and more.
Group Classes
Group classes at Ballroom Dance Chicago are a bit different than traditional studios. Because most people come in with their own partner, we don’t practice rotating partners. Your teacher will move between each couple offering individual instruction so both beginners and experienced dancers are welcome!
Four-week sessions and drop-ins take place at our Lakeview studio Tuesday through Thursday at 6:00PM, 6:45PM and 7:30PM. Drop-ins in West Loop are available Fridays at 6:45PM and Saturdays at 1:30PM. You can view our full schedule here.
Four-week sessions are $200 per couple. Drop-ins are $70 per couple.

How is Ballroom Dance Chicago Different Than Other Adult Dance Studios?
At BDC, we love dance and want you to be able to use it all the time. We focus on teaching you to dance in a way you will use in real world situations. While we can teach you syllabus steps and competition styling, this is not what the majority of people want. Most people just want to feel confident (and like themselves) on a dance floor.
At Ballroom Dance Chicago, you can purchase lessons to be used for any dance style(s) and goals that interest you. All lessons will be taught at your pace of learning with your specific goals in mind. No ulterior motives or agendas.
