Refund and Cancellation Policy
For In-Studio Lessons:
Private Lessons:
Cancellations: When you schedule a lesson, you are reserving that slot of your instructor’s time and studio space. We understand things come up, but we need at least 24 hours to attempt to fill your slot (think of this like buying a ticket for that lesson time. We’re happy to resell your ticket if you give us enough time).
To cancel a lesson without being charged for the lesson, you must notify us at least 24 hours before your lesson starts (For example, if your scheduled lesson starts at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, you must call or email us before 8 p.m. on Tuesday). If you must cancel within the 24-hour period, you will be charged for the lesson in full. Please note that we do not make exceptions to this policy. Refunds: All of our lessons, group classes and packages of lessons are nonrefundable and non-transferrable. They do not, however, expire. After one year, packages of lessons only retain the original purchase value of the lessons remaining in the package and can be applied to the purchase of a new package.
Group Classes:
For our Four Week Sessions, please note that we are unable to offer refunds or credits for any missed classes.
For drop-in classes, if you need to reschedule, just let us know at least 24 hours before your class. Please remember, if a class is missed without a 24-hour notice, we're unable to offer a refund or credit for that session.
Our class sizes are intentionally kept small to enhance your learning experience, and this policy plays a key role in helping us manage the schedule effectively for everyone. Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation!
For Online Lessons:
Recorded tutorials have a 24 hour trial period. If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with the recorded tutorials within the first 24 hours, simply email us and we’ll cancel your subscription and refund you the full cost of the tutorials. After 24 hours, our recorded tutorials are non-refundable; however, you may cancel your subscription at anytime. To cancel your subscription, log into your account and follow the steps for cancellation.
Personalized Tutorials and Streaming Lessons are non-refundable.
Gift Certificates are non-refundable. You may, however, apply the value of the gift certificate to any of our online services.
Streaming Lesson cancellations must be made 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. Lessons cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a the full price for the lesson. We do not make exceptions to this policy.
Streaming lessons expire one year from the date of purchase.
For Studio Memberships:
Cancellations: memberships can be canceled after an initial four-month period by emailing info@ballroomdancechicago.com. This cancellation must be received two weeks before the start of a new month in order for the membership to be canceled by the new month.
If you would like to cancel a newly purchased membership, we allow cancellations with full refunds (minus a $50 service fee) up to 48 hours after the purchase, as long as none of the membership benefits have been utilized.
Refunds: we do not offer refunds on memberships, with the exception of newly purchased memberships.
Transfers: we do not allow memberships to be transferred between people.
Holds: we allow the membership to be put on a one-month hold once every “membership year” with a $50 service fee. To put your membership on hold, please email info@ballroomdancechicago.com and supply the dates for which you’d like the membership paused. The paused month will be added to the end of your membership if it happens within the first four months.
For Gift Certificates:
Gift Certificates are non-refundable. You may, however, apply the value of the gift certificate to any of our online services.
