Recapping Our 2024 New Year’s Eve Ball
As the clock struck midnight on December 31, 2024, we bid farewell to an incredible year and welcomed 2025 with open arms - and what a celebration it was! The 2024 NYE Ball was an evening of connection, joy, and reflection, bringing together dancers from all walks of life to share in the magic of the moment. Whether you joined us on the dance floor or celebrated from afar, we’re thrilled to share a recap of this unforgettable night.
The Evening Begins
The night kicked off with a lively hustle class designed to get everyone moving and grooving. The energy in the room was electric as dancers - some seasoned pros, others just beginning their ballroom journey - came together to learn and laugh. It set the tone for a night of celebration and togetherness.
Around 11 p.m., we shifted gears with a Fledermaus quadrille class, focusing on part three of this classic dance. For most, it was brand new, and the slight chaos only added to the fun. The room filled with laughter as partners navigated the intricate steps, creating a shared moment of camaraderie and joy.
A Moment of Reflection: Matthew’s Speech
As the evening continued, Matthew, the studio owner, took the floor for a heartfelt speech that encouraged everyone to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future. Here’s what he shared:
“Good evening, everyone!
First, let me start by saying thank you. Thank you for being here tonight and for choosing to share this special evening with us. It truly means so much to all of us at the studio.
Now, if you haven’t already, please take a moment to find your seat and grab the postcard and envelope you were given at the beginning of the night. Don’t worry, we’ll put these to use in just a moment.
Before we dive into the activity, I’d like to share something personal with you. Standing here tonight, I’m reminded of why I started this studio in the first place. In a world that’s so often dominated by technology and digital connections, I believe deeply in the value of face-to-face moments - of spending real, quality time with people we care about and with our community. It’s these moments that bring meaning and joy to our lives, and tonight is a perfect example of that.
As we celebrate the passing of time - the end of 2024 and the start of 2025 - I want to invite you to take a moment to reflect on both the journey behind you and the possibilities ahead.
Let’s start with a small exercise. Begin by addressing your envelope to yourself. Then, on your postcard, I want you to answer four questions:
1. What is one lesson you’ve learned this past year that you want to carry forward?
2. What is something you want to leave behind in 2024?
3. What is one thing you’re most excited about for 2025?
4. What is one way you can show kindness to yourself or others in the coming year?
Take a few minutes to write from the heart. Be honest with yourself, and don’t overthink it. Once you’ve finished, seal your postcard in the envelope.
Later tonight, hand your envelope to one of our staff members. I’ll make sure these are sent back to you mid-year, as a reminder of the intentions you set for yourself tonight. Think of it as a little letter from the past to your future self—a small way to reconnect with your hopes and dreams for the year.

Midnight Magic
As the countdown began, excitement rippled through the room. At the stroke of midnight, the celebration reached its peak with confetti cannons, noise makers, and a joyous rendition of “Auld Lang Syne.” The dance floor was alive with smiles, laughter, and hugs as we welcomed the new year together.
A Thoughtful Goodbye
As guests departed, we shared a small token of gratitude and intention - a gift box containing chamomile tea, a meditation candle, and a meditation stone. Beautifully wrapped in ribbon, this gift was designed to help everyone stay centered and focused in the year ahead, a gentle reminder of the evening’s theme of reflection and renewal.
