John & Christine's Classic Lincoln Park Wedding
John & Christine tied the knot in Chicago at Cafe Brauer on July 23rd, 2016.
"Excited. Nervous. Happy. Proud. The dance was a reflection of our love and connection; it was the best way to be introduced as husband and wife."
John & Christine demonstrated their love for one another by dancing to "Over and Over Again" by Nathan Sykes.
What was your favorite part of taking dance lessons for the wedding?
It quickly became the day of the week that we most looked forward to - it was dance and date night. We could connect as a couple and put our crazy days behind us, and simply dance. Cathy made us feel like we were her only students. She took the time to learn about us, adapted the lesson to our comfort level and she made learning fun; there was a lot of laughter.
What insight or knowledge can you share with other couples who are taking dance lessons for their wedding?
Dancing is the first thing we had to do as a couple, that neither of us knew how to do well. We both had to listen and learn from each other - how to move, how to shift our weight, how to hold our posture, how to lead and how to follow. Be prepared to listen to both your partner and the instructor, they will both have insight into improving your dance. And, remember to have fun and laugh at yourself as it won't be perfect, but that's what makes it memorable.
