New Studio in West Loop! Announcing Ballroom Dance Chicago Loft

Hello Chicago! We are happy to announce that we have recently opened Ballroom Dance Chicago Loft in the West Loop neighborhood in Chicago. While we’ve loved our location in Lakeview for almost ten years, we figured it was about time to branch out and teach dance lessons in other neighborhoods, and we couldn’t think of any cooler, hipper spot in all of Chicago than West Loop.

So why West Loop and not some other neighborhood?

While we have spent some time searching in Streeterville and River North (because there is a dance studio desert in those locations) we just couldn’t find a reasonable space to rent. Plain and simple.

West Loop was our next stop. There are a couple of studios already in West Loop, but we don’t see them in the same category of business as our dance studio.

Our friend Julie Mertz owns Big City Swing and they focus on swing. So a bit more specialized than us and, therefore, not in the same category of dance studio as Ballroom Dance Chicago Loft. Yes, we teach swing dancing, as well as foxtrot, waltz, salsa, mambo, etc, but swing focused studios attract a different crowd than a full service ballroom studio like ours.

West loop also has a Fred Astaire, but they’re a chain/franchised dance studio, and that big corporate thing is not our bag at all. I mean, we teach the same types of dance styles, but we’re a local Chicago business and we figured our neighbors in West Loop would appreciate a local team teaching dance lessons.

So here we are: 845 W Fulton St, Ste 213, Chicago, IL 60607. And we offer all the same types of dance lessons as we do our our Lakeview studio. So whether you want to take private dance lessons for fun, private dance lessons for your wedding, or group classes, we’ve got you covered.
