What is DanceSport?
DanceSport is the term used worldwide to describe learning ballroom dancing at a high level of technical mastery. It also refers to competitive ballroom dancing, but don’t worry—you don’t have to compete if you don’t want to! At Ballroom Dance Chicago, we specialize in the American styles of DanceSport: Smooth and Rhythm.
American Smooth dances include waltz, foxtrot, tango, and Viennese waltz. In American Rhythm, you’ll find cha cha, rumba, east coast swing, bolero, and mambo.
